In my spare time I love to read. I haven’t gotten the chance to read for fun as much as I would like to due to school, work, etc. Reading is something that most of my family enjoys. My sisters and I used to trade books we thought the other might enjoy. One of my favorite books is called Nineteen Minutes by an author named Jodi Picoult.

Another one of my interests is painting. Even though I’m not good at it, it’s still an activity I enjoy. I try to sketch out something simple that is easy to paint. I love painting with my son and I write the date we did them so e can have memories to look back on later. I recently set up an at home “sip and paint”, where my partner and I swapped the canvas back and fourth. It was an interesting painting to say the least.

My favorite interest is cooking. I first developed an interest in cooking when I was about 12 years old. What got me started was watching my mom cook, which eventually led me to watching the food network to see how/what other foods were out there. I would experiment and try to cook different recipes when I was younger. Now I’m always looking up new recipes to make and I am always trying something new. Some of which become new dinner staples. What I enjoy most about cooking is combining all of the flavors, spices and seeing how other cultures make their meals. Cooking is therapeutic to me, I put my headphones in and go into my own world.
